How it works

Four steps, and no middleman in any of them

No broker decides whether you get the shift. If you are verified and there is capacity, the shift is yours the moment you apply.

  1. Verify once

Link your Aadhaar and your UPI ID one time. Once you are verified you can apply for any shift — there is no approval queue and nobody to convince.

  2. Find shifts near you

Open shifts are listed nearest first, with the pay, the timings and the exact location shown up front. Apply and you are confirmed immediately, first come first served.

  3. Check in on site

When you arrive, take a photo and check in. Our server checks your distance from the site itself — so your attendance is a record, not a claim.

  4. Get paid to UPI

Once the shift is verified your earning becomes withdrawable, and you are paid within 7 days straight to the UPI ID you linked.

Proof of attendance

A record of the shift, not a supervisor's word for it

Daily-wage work in India runs on WhatsApp photos and someone vouching for you. That is why workers get paid late and businesses cannot tell who actually turned up. WorkTap replaces it with evidence.

Coordinates

Where you were when you checked in and out, recorded at the moment it happened.

Timestamps

When the shift actually started and ended, from the server clock rather than the phone.

A photo

Taken at check-in, on site. Evidence that a person — not a phone — was present.

A server-computed distance

How far you were from the site, recalculated by us. Check-in is refused outside the radius, which is 200 metres by default.

A fake-GPS app does not work here

If a device reports a mock location, the check-in is refused before the geofence is even considered — and the attempt is recorded. The phone's own opinion about whether it is inside the fence is never trusted; the distance is always recomputed on our side.

Your money

The rate you see is the rate you get

Nothing is deducted from the pay shown on a shift. WorkTap bills the business separately — that rate never comes out of yours.

Paid within 7 days

Once your shift is verified, the earning is yours to withdraw to the UPI ID you linked. Seven days is a commitment we measure and alert on, not an aspiration.

You can never end up owing money

A penalty is capped at what you earned on that shift. The worst case is that a shift pays nothing — it can never become a debt. Every penalty carries a written reason, shown to you in the app.

A reputation that is yours

Every completed shift builds a trust score out of 10 from your completion rate, cancellations and how businesses rate you. Ten reliable months finally count for something at the eleventh employer.

For business

Hiring 40 people is not a discovery problem. It is a show-up problem.

You do not need another list of candidates. You need to know that the people you vetted were physically on site — with coordinates, timestamps, photos and distances to show it. That is the only thing WorkTap sells.

Questions

Straight answers

If something here is unclear, that is a problem with the answer and not with the question.

Does WorkTap take a cut of my pay?
Nothing is deducted from the figure you see. The pay shown on a shift is the amount that reaches your UPI ID. WorkTap bills the business separately, and that rate is never taken out of yours.
When do I get paid?
Within 7 days of your shift being verified. Verification happens after check-out; once it is done, your earning becomes withdrawable and you can send it to your UPI ID.
Can a shift ever leave me owing money?
No. If a penalty is applied it is capped at what you earned on that shift, so the worst case is that the shift pays nothing. It can never go below zero, and every penalty carries a written reason that is shown to you in the app.
Why does WorkTap need my location and a photo?
Because that evidence is the product. Businesses use WorkTap to know that a verified person was actually on site, and that is what lets you be paid without a supervisor vouching for you. Location is recorded when you check in and out — not continuously, and never in the background.
What happens if I cannot make a shift?
Cancel it in the app. Cancelling 48 hours or more before the start has no effect on your trust score. Cancelling later than that counts against it, because at that point the business cannot replace you.
What is a trust score?
A score out of 10 built from the shifts you complete, how often you cancel, and how businesses rate you. It is your record of reliable work, and it stays with you across every business you work for on WorkTap.
Is the app available now?
Not publicly yet. The Android app is in private testing while we run real shifts with a small group of workers. It will be on Google Play once that is done.
